2026 Most Anticipated Book Releases

As I start writing some of my first posts on this blog, the one I am most excited to write about is my most anticipated books for 2026. I feel like over the past couple of years I have attached myself to a few authors where I will read whatever they write the second it is released. While 2025 was a great year for reading, I feel really excited about what is to come in 2026. By the way, I know it is already late April in 2026, but I did not get the courage to start writing a blog until now, so bear with me.

The first book I am excited to read in 2026 is The Ballad of Fallen Dragons by Sarah A. Parker. This is the sequel to When the Moon Hatched, and wow, am I excited for this book. I read the first book right when I moved to a new city. I had a few friends, but in reality, I felt very alone, although excited to take on a new place. I remember coming home from work and rushing to get ready for the night because all I wanted to do was sit and read this book. I don’t want to give away too much about what happens in book one of this series, so all I will say is that if you like dragons, magic, a strong female main character, an enemies-to-lovers trope, and quite the slow burn, I highly recommend this book.

The second book I am waiting patiently for is Claiming 10 by Chloe Walsh, which is the seventh book in the Boys of Tommen series. Since we are close friends now, something you should know about me is that this series lives rent-free in my brain every day. This is a contemporary romance series that follows a group of high school friends and the trials they face every day. Some of you may be wondering, if they are in high school, they have not even seen the hardest part of life yet. This crew will be ready for anything in adulthood after what they have gone through as teens. This series holds such a special place in my heart, and I cannot recommend it more.

Last but not least, (I cannot emphasize this enough) The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig. Rachel is the absolute best at writing duologies, and I will pick up anything she writes. I have loved Rachel’s writing ever since I finished One Dark Window in about a day. My day job took a back seat for twenty-four hours because I could not put it down. I recently finished the first book in this duology, The Knight and the Moth. If you love a gothic fantasy book, this duology is for you.

There are so many more 2026 releases I am excited for, and I am sure they will have their time to shine in a separate blog post, but these are the three I am looking forward to the most.

Until next chapter,

SBB
